Kimiko Fujii
Kimiko Fujii of Lihu‘e, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 2004 at the age of 86.
Born in Koloa, on Feb. 25, 1918, she was a Kitchen Helper with Coco Palms Hotel.
She is survived by a son, David M. (Karen) Fujii of Mililani, O‘ahu; three daughters, Sarah I. (Howard) Date of Waimea, JoAnn (Stair) Dickerman of Bainbridge Island, WA., and Shirley S. (Mike) Garcia of Pearl City, O‘ahu; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dr. Stanley Y. (Mary) Inouye of Sacramento, CA., Takao Inouye of Honolulu, Richard (Ewa) Inouye of Glendale, CA., and Edward (Edith) Inouye of Aiea, O‘ahu; sister, Yoshie Kubota of Pearl City, Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Lihue Hongwanji Mission.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Kazue Ichioka
Kazue Ichioka of Lihu’e, died Dec. 3, 2004, at Garden Isle Health Care at the age of 86.
Born Jan. 2, 1919, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son: Ernest (Karen) Ichioka of Honolulu; one daughter; Janet (Edwin) Kamioka of Lihu‘e; one sister; Marion (Fred) Hironaka of Honolulu; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Private services will be held at the Valley of the Temples in Honolulu at the Byodoin Temple.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Gavin J.K. Gonsalves
Gavin James Kaleolani Gonsalves of Modesto, Calif., died Nov. 13, 2004, at home at the age of 43.
A native of Kekaha, he lived in Modesto for 16 years where he worked as a truck driver for C.R. England for 11 years. He enjoyed drag races, beaches, the ocean and watching sunsets.
He is survived by his wife Maile and daughter Cassie Gonsalves of Modesto; father James, brothers Darren, and Dayne (Antoinette) Gonsalves; and sister Jamesette Keikilani Johnson, all of Kaua‘i. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Gonsalves.
A memorial service will be held at the Kekaha Pavilions at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.
