Linda A. Labuguen
Linda A. Labuguen of Makaweli died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Nov. 15, 2004 at the age of 78.
Born in Honolulu on Aug. 29, 1926, she was a field worker with Gay & Robinson.
Preceded in death by daughter, Christine Bugarin, brother, Lawrence Mokulehua and sister, Elsie M. Tate, she is survived by three sons, Basilio T. Bugarin Jr. of Makaweli, Edwin H. (Ok Sil) Bugarin of Korea, and Daryl J. (Alexis) Bugarin of Arizona; daughter, Bernadette (Herman) Melendez of Kapa‘a; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Victor (Fran) Mokulehua of Pennsylvania, Leonard (Amu) Mokulehua of Honolulu, and Alvin (Faith) Mokulehua of Honolulu; two sisters, Loretta Payapaya and Rhonda Miller, both of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha; service officiated by Father Larry will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Elena Mendoza Visitacion of Kaumakani died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on Nov. 22, 2004 at the age of 88.
Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on June 5, 1916, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by husband, Modesto F. Visitacion, she is survived by her children, Irenio (Maddy) Visitacion of Pearl City, O‘ahu, Sarah (George) Paiste of Kekaha, Francisco Visitacion of Kaumakani, Esther (Placido) Espino of Makakilo, O‘ahu, Alfredo (Lourdes) Visitacion of Fremont, Calif., Jaime (Carol) Visitacion of Fresno, Calif., and John (Brenda) Visitacion of ‘Ele‘ele; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maura Cadiz of Philippines and Consuelo Baniaga of Kaumakani; brother, Florendo Mendoza of Los Angeles, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the West Kauai United Methodist Church; service officiated by Pastor James Brooking will begin at 10 a.m., followed by burial at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Robert Reid Chevlin
Robert Reid Chevlin of Kapa‘a, died Nov. 24, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 42.
Born Sept. 14, 1962, in New York, he was a culinary chef at Kauai Marriott and Kilohana. He is a graduate of Hawaii Baptist Academy and played baseball for the academy.
Preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Isabelle Chevlin, he is survived by one son: Raymond J. K. Chevlin of Kapa‘a; one sister: Martha Chevlin of New Hampshire; one uncle, one niece; two nephews and three cousins.
Direct inurnment services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 2, at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Lihu‘e, at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Raymond Chevlin Trust Fund at Kauai Community Federal Credit Union in Kapa‘a, Acct. # 69758, or mail checks payable to the Raymond Chevlin Trust Fund to P.O. Box 3131, Lihu‘e HI 96766. Casual attire is suggested.

Harriet Kaholokula
Harriet Kamala Kaaumoana Kaholokula of Kapa‘a, died Nov. 27, 2004, at Straub Clinic & Hospital at the age of 80.
Born May 16, 1924, in Kohala, Hilo, Hawai‘i, she was a retired manager for Kapaa Sands.
She is survived by sons Kimo Kaholokula of Kapa‘a and Robbie (Pua) Kaholokula of Kapa‘a; two grandsons; brothers: William (Eileen) Kama of Dayton, Ohio, Charles (Eloise) Kama of Hilo, Eric (Chieko) Kama of Hilo, John (Pauline) Kama of Indianapolis, Ind., Archie (Jeannie) Kama of Salem, Ore., Harold (Sharilyn) Kama of Hilo; sisters: Charlotte (Allen) Wong of Honolulu and Roberta Kama of Honolulu; brothers-in-law: George Chock of Honolulu and Donald Respecio of Hilo and sister-in-law: Kay Kama of Hilo.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa with viewing from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and services to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Barbara Sue King
Barbara Sue King of Kapa‘a, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 61.
Born Jan. 20, 1943, in Oklahoma, she was in public relations.
She is survived by children: Cassandra S. Paul, Felicia Dawn (James) Scott, and Joshua Leo Paul; and caregiver: Tiwana Goerner-Heiser.
Memorial services will be Friday, Dec. 3, at Po‘ipu Beach Park.

Katherine Nakamura
Katherine Apana Nakamura of Kapa‘a, died Nov. 18, 2004, at her home in Wailua Houselots at the age of 75.
Born Dec. 5, 1928, on Kaua‘i, she was a secretary.
She is survived by her husband: Anthony Tatsuo Nakamura of Kapa‘a; three daughters: Leigh Nakamura, Gayle (Dean) Kuboyama, and Lisa Nakamura; two sisters-in-law: Violet Apana and Mona Apana; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services were held at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church. Burial followed at Kauai Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Mauricio Lardizabal
Mauricio Lardizabal of Kapa‘a died at his home in Kapa‘a at the age of 92.
Born April 1, 1912, in the Philippines, he was the owner of Leilani Taxi & Tour Company.
He is survived by his wife: Herminia Simeon Lardizabal of Kapa‘a; seven children: Maurice (Florence) Lardizabal, Jr., Alfred (Heidi) Lardizabal, Carmen Orpilla, Charlene Avita, Maureen (Zachary) Octavio, Glenn (Karen) Lardizabal, and Scott Lardizabal; seven stepchildren: Leroy Tangalin, Leonard Tangalin, Fred (Karole) Tangalin, Steven Tangalin, Gloria (Charles) Reed, Yolanda (Scott) Kurihara, and Nena (Bill) Johnson; one sister: Maria Manzano; 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call Saturday, Dec. 4, at Lydgate Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where memorial services will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Yumiko Kimura Smith
Yumiko Kimura Smith of Kalaheo died at Wilcox Hospital on Nov. 27, 2004, at the age of 67. She was a housewife.
Preceded in death by her parents, Sotoji Kimura and Yuki Kawai, she is survived by her husband, Col. William J. Smith, USMC, (retired),; daughter: Jennifer K. Smith of Chicago; brother: Koji Kimura of Yokohama, Japan, and sister, Reiko Miyochi of Nagoya, Japan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at Garden Island Mortuary on Friday, Dec. 3, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., where service officiated by Pastor Steve Furneaux will be held at 6 p.m. Inurnment will be at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
