It’s hard to tell what the children at the Head Start preschools on the island enjoy more — the company of their fathers, the good books they get read to them, or the doughnuts and drinks that come with the monthly visits.
Whatever the case — and the favorites might change from month to month — the children enjoy the “Donuts With Dads” program that offers some quality time with their male role models.
Head Start is a free preschool for families whose incomes meet program requirements. Child and Family Service officials run the Kauai Head Start preschools.
