Kaua‘i High School sophomore Chelsea Smith-Wishard and Waimea High School junior Scott Martin head the list of outstanding runners for 2004.
For the girls, Waimea junior Rachel Martin, Kula freshman Gillian Pickett, Kaua‘i junior Kassy Morishige, Kapa‘a junior Alex Pond, and Kapa‘a senior Liana Nakazawa also earned KIF all-star honors.
On the boys side, Waimea junior Nathan Martin, Kaua‘i senior Chad Naganuma, Island School juniors Chris Marsh and Alan Hoffman, and Island School senior Fabio Villa garnered KIF all-star honors as well.
The 2004 KIF cross-country all-stars were chosen for their times at the KIF championship meet at Kapa‘a High School.
Smith-Wishard and Scott Martin were the top finishers for Kaua‘i at the state meet on the Big Island. Smith-Wishard finished in 12th-place, after a 94th-place finish a year ago. Meanwhile, Martin improved on his 9th-place finish from last year, by crossing the finish line in the 8th spot.
The all-stars were chosen based on their times at the KIF championship meet.
