A poll
I would like to give people something to think about in regards to
what creates wealth and jobs in this country. So I am suggesting that
the following test will give one some ideas on what is important to
their well being.
1. Which entity provides the most jobs ?
A Unions
B. Government
C. Environmentalist
D. Attorneys
E. Large and small product making companies.
2. Which entities make the cost of living increase each year ?
A. Large and small product making companies.
B. Unions
C. Government.
D. Environmentalist.
E. Attorneys
In my opinion there is only one correct answer to each question.
Can you guess which is my correct answer?
For those of you from Rio Linda , the answer to #1 is E, and the
answer to #2 is A.
I look forward to providing more multiple choice tests in the
future. Keep reading The Garden Island Newspaper for these multiple
choice tests in the future.

Plagiarism accusations
In response to a letter in the Forum that made accusations of plagiarism during the past few weeks, I am beginning to think that the letter writer sounds like a broken record.
It would be different if there were some facts to support his perceptions, but the writer continually refers to some mysterious Spam e-mail that he receives and no one else is privileged to. These Mc McCarthy-like ramblings reflect a single dimensional dysfunctional think-in process.
If this individual has legitimate evidence, then why not share names dates and places so we can determine whether someone has been caught in a fraud. Today’s Internet absorbs information at an exponential rate and the very information that he sites as plagiarism, may actually be correspondence taken from the original author and transposed immediately to e-mail format. Who’s to say that I am not e-mailing my TGI letter to a friend and they read it long before it gets printed in the paper. If that friend forwards it and billions read it, does that mean I have plagiarized my own material? The answer is no.
Plagiarism is a very strong term that should not be carelessly thrown around without proof and thus far he has given us none. Even with the most sophisticated of PC’s you’d be hard-pressed to filter out the billions of e-mails and Web sites in order to locate a word for word talking points memo in support of these baseless conspiracy theories.
The election is over with and the American people decided President Bush would remain as our Commander and Chief, so we need to get on with our lives.
