Kodie Sugahara Memorial Golf on Saturday
By The Garden Island
The Second Annual Kodie Sugahara Memorial Golf Tournament happens on November 13 at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Mokihana Golf Course.
Sugahara was born on December 15, 2002 along with her twin sister Kylie.
Kodie passed away at the young age of 5 1/2 months.
On October 16, 2003, the family, along with friends and companies, managed to put together a memorial golf tournament, as their dream of raising money to help benefit special needs children like Kodie became a reality.
The turn out in the first tournament was great, with a total of 44 players and with the help of donations, everyone was able to get a prize.
In December of 2003, the Sugahara family proudly presented a check in the amount of $1,000 in memory of Kodie Sugahara to the Easter Seals Program in Lihu‘e.
The family is asking for your help once again this year and they’d like to extend a sincere thank you for your donations last year.
If you would like to donate, contact Preston Sugahara at 645-1833 or Maile Moriguchi at 645-1835 or you can mail your donations to: Kodie Sugahara Memorial Golf Tournament, c/o Preston Sugahara and Maile Moriguchi, P.O. Box 922, Waimea, HI 96796.
