LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i’s high school volleyball and football teams will need to win three games to win a state championship this year.
All three teams (boys’ and girls’ volleyball and football) did not receive top-four seeds in their respective Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) tournaments, the schedules of which were released yesterday.
The three sports are all represented by Kauai Interscholastic Federation (KIF) champions Kaua‘i High School.
The girls’ volleyball team heads to King Kekaulike High School in Pukalani, Maui, this Thursday, November 10, with a 6:30 p.m. game versus Kalani. A win would bring them up against #1 seed Punaho Friday.
The boys’ volleyball team heads to the Big Island and Kamehemeha High School Thursday, with a game against Milani at 5 p.m. A win would pit them against #2 seed Waiakea Friday.
And the Red Raider football team will stay at home to battle Pac Three at Vidinha Stadium this Friday. A win sends them to Oahu to face the winner of the Cambell and Waipahu game the following weekend.
