With the general election now past it’s time to get beyond
the political battles that have dragged on for months. Political divisions are growing more distinct across the nation, and it seems some politicans begin campaigning for the next election as soon as they win or lose a race. There are important issues to solve now that the election is over. We are still looking at major traffic and solid waster problems. Finishing the work on property tax reform and building affordable housing all loom ahead of us. Adjusting to the 21st century, and modernizing our infrastructure and social programs is needed.
In these areas we need to hold our newly-elected public officials accountable.
Watch for coverage in The Garden Island that will track how these officals plan to solve the problems they’ve promised to tackle if elected and how long it takes them to get the job started to do this.
