I just returned from Hanalei Bay after this storm that passed through. The bay smelled pretty bad and the brown water should have been an indication as not to go in for a swim. There were no signs posted as to this situation. The lifeguards did not inform the people of the dangers of swimming in the bay after a huge storm. I passed families along my walk and informed them of the raw sewage in the bay. I wonder how many people get sick and give the reason as bad food. What is it going to take to just inform the community of pollution in the bay. Is it denial or just not wanting to show that there is a problem.

In two recent letters to the editor Betty Jo Dux is calling for peace. Regrettably, think we won’t realize it in our lifetime. She calls for the Christians to go to the Muslim mosques and the Muslims to come to the Christian churches. I think this lady should leave this “Paradise” and travel to see the world as it really is. In many countries today, a Muslim would be killed for going anywhere near a Christian Church or even a Buddhist or Hindu Temple. But don’t take my word for it. Ask Salman Rushdie who was condemned to death for simply writing about Islam in “Satanic Verses”? Since Ms. Dux likes to read, I would suggest she get her hands on “Islam Unveiled” by Robert Spencer. Mr. Spencer is a member of the Christian-Islamic Forum, Inc. who after 20 years of trying to find a middle way, has published his conclusions. In his book he covers such things as: Is Islam a Religion of peace?; Does Islam Respect Human Rights?; Does Islam Respect Women?, etc.
He cites a very chilling quote of the late Grand Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran: “Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled or incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world…” Are you Ms. Dux prepared to accept the commands of Allah?
No, we have to stop this foolishness now and we can’t do it with a man who won’t stand behind his military and who testified against his fellow soldiers because of his own political ambitions, a man who thinks the people who are slaughtering innocents by the thousands are a “nuisance”.
