Kapa‘a soared past Northshore in total domination by the score of 32-0. Leading the way for the Eagles were Keane Agoot, who scored in the first quarter on a 6-yard TD run and a 4-yard TD run in the fourth, Aron Nagao, who bumbled into the endzone for a 5-yard TD run in the second, Brentten Rapozo, who belted through the endzone for a 1-yard TD run, and Jakey Alves, who scored on a 4-yard TD pass from Rapozo.
Bronson Aiwohi kicked the only PAT in the game. Northshore’s Josiah Enrique came up big with 2 blocked PAT’s. Leading the way on defense for Northshore were Ranson Camat, Ka‘awa Solomon, Jonathan Yam, and Enrique. Kapa‘a was led on defense by Nagao and Agoot.
Midgets: Kapa‘a 20, Northshore 14
Northshore jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but Kapa‘a answered with 20 straight and held off a late Na Ali‘i charge for the 20-14 win.
Northshore’s Alex Geimer started things off in the first with a 10-yard fumble recovery TD. Kapa‘a’s Makai‘o Ka‘auomoana answered with an amazing 74-yard kick off return TD. In the second, Ka‘auomoana scored again, this time on a 6-yard TD run. Then Justin Furtado of Kapa‘a took a 15-yard pass for a TD from Bryston Rapozo. Northshore’s Joe Boy Enrique scampered for an 80-yard kick off return TD to make the score 20-14. Both teams were unable to score in the third and fourth quarters.
Northshore’s Enrique and Kapa‘a’s Ian Lactaotao both booted PAT kicks. On the defensive side, Northshore was led by Alex Geimer, Joe Boy Enrique, Keli‘i Enrique, and Jacob Kuhaulua. The Eagles were led by Rapozo, Ka‘auomoana, and James Griep.
Midgets: Kekaha 16, Hanapepe 8
Kekaha finally untied a tight game in the third quarter to push past Hanapepe, 16-8. In the second, Kekaha’s Kylan Gandia scored on a 1-yard TD run, with Bully Pancho’s kick to give the Chargers the 8-0 lead. Hanapepe’s James Delos Reyes answered with a 45-yard TD run, with Cody Owen’s kick to tie the game up in the third. The game-clincher came on the feet of Kekaha’s Wesley Schmidt, who ran in for a 5-yard TD run. Pancho’s kick made the final, 16-8.
Defensive standouts for the Colts included, Brandon Hashimoto, Justin Moriwake, and Statson Raposas. For the Chargers, Kailan Malama, Jay Watanabe, Kalen Fleming, Pancho, Kalani Apilado, and Paul Apilado led the way.
JPW: Hanapepe 24, Kekaha 13
Hanapepe led from the start till the end, but Kekaha kept it respectable. In the first, Hanapepe’s Clifton Callejo put the pigskin in the endzone for the early lead. Dallas “Texas” Correa nailed the PAT for the 8-0 advantage. Kekaha’s Kaimana Perreira-Alquiza ran away from the Colts for a 45-yard TD run in the first.
Hanapepe’s Mikeo Rita answered with a 54-yard TD run. Correa grabbed his second PAT of the contest to put the Colts up 16-6. Callejo came up with his second TD of the game for Hanapepe with a 2-yard TD jolt and Correa’s leg lifted the pigskin through the uprights again for the 24-6 lead. Kekaha’s Austin Parinas-Kenney nailed a 1-yard TD run with 4:16 to go in the game. Parinas-Kenney also hooked up with Tresen Lacaden-Bisarra for the one point play. Correa and Rita led the way on defense for Hanapepe.
Midgets: Lihu‘e 24, Koloa 20
Lihu‘e led from start to finish in this high scoring contest. The Patriots’ Pono Matthews started the scoring spree with a 48-yard TD run and Paleku Yasay’s 8-yard scamper gave Lihu‘e the early 16-0 lead. Matthews nailed both PAT’s. Matthew’s scored again from a pass via Matt Koyama to the tune of 9 yards, which gave Lihu‘e a commanding, 24-0 lead, as Matthews nailed another PAT. Loren Duarte put Koloa on the board late in the second on a 4-yard TD run. Koloa scored two more times on a 33-yard TD run by Reggie Vigilia and a 1-yard TD run by Hilton Delima-Kamai. Dawson Okinaka nailed one of two PAT’s. Defensive standouts for Koloa included Keith Saniatan and Vigilia. Matthews and Chris Longboy led Lihu‘e.
JPW: Lihu‘e 12, Koloa 6
Lihu‘e controlled the game from the start and was even able to hold off a late Koloa charge. John Das, whose parents celebrated their anniversary yesterday, scored twice for Lihu‘e, a 52-yard fumble recovery TD and a 30-yard TD catch from Travis Koga. Koloa put some points on the board with 5:32 to go in the game, with a Tanner Rivera 48-yard TD run.
Kalei Fujita, James Bukoski, Travis Rayno, and Mark Saniatan led the way on defense for the Packers.
Lihu‘e was led by Isaac Ramboyan, Das, Marcus Martinez, and Ryan Hass.
