LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i and Waimea were right on target with two convincing victories against Island School and Kapa‘a.
The Red Raiders, led by Dustin Russell and Terra Bell, managed to put up the top scores for a 1085-929 boys win and a 1048-923.
The Waimea boys defeated Kapa‘a 1136-912 and the Menehune girls took care of the Warriors, 1121-923.
Along with Bell’s 223, Kaua‘i’s Christen Oshiro (210), Charissa Riofta (198), Ka‘iulani Sheldon (206), and Casey Shimokawa (211) all posted scores worthy of the top five.
Russell’s 231, Kendall Kusaka’s 219, Brandan Nakamoto’s 210, Marc Shibata’s 213, and Garon Nobriga’s 212 led the way for the Kaua‘i boys.
For the girls, Island School’s top five included Kelli-Rose Hooser (178), Blaise La Madrid (158), Kelsy Ritchie (185), Sky Smith (228), and Michelle Woltman (174). The Island School boys were led by Kevin Dhorne (209), Carlos Maibeth-Mortimer (162), Rory Marsh (166), Erik Talvi (200), and Brian O’Brien (192).
Waimea’s girls squad posted impressive numbers with every shooter over 200. Sheila Ramos led the way (238), along with Lynell Wright (231), Mitzi Seto (220), Chantelle Briones (215), and Jenni Ueno (217).
The Menehune boys fared just as well with Brian Martin leading the way (241). Other top shooters included, Jeffrey Kakuda (208), Jesse Choi (230), Tyren Sakuda (231), and Kori Sakahashi (226).
For the Kapa‘a boys, Terrence Cuyo (192), Eric Gudmundson (168), Reyn Mossman (206), Travis Toguchi (183), and Max Vandervort (163) led the way.
The Warrior girls were paced by Gemmalyn Catbagan (179), Crystal Dawson (186), Jenny Espina (175), Makaleka Ferreira (185), and Brittney Sutton (198).
