LIHU‘E — When’s the last time you did something just for the sake of someone else?
Well, the 48 guys and gals participating in the Second Annual West Kaua‘i Medical Center/KVMH Charitable Golf Tournament did just that by giving back to the famed westside hospital yesterday at the beautiful Kaua‘i Lagoons Mokihana Course.
With a $10,000 2004 goal in mind, tournament director Steve Kline said the tourney went as well as planned.
“It was another great success for us and we look forward to more great years to come,” Kline said.
All proceeds benefited the programs for the KVMH Charitable Foundation for new hospital equipment.
Kline mentioned that every year, KVMH charts its needs and the proceeds go directly to the cause that needs the most attention.
And yes, there was golf too!
Brian and Todd Yamase topped the golfers with a 60.6, followed by Wally Sonoda/Archie Fontanilla (60.8), Garrett Braun/Wade Stevens (61), Mariano Torres/Neil Torres (62.1), Bryan Ewart/Rod Stewart (62.2), and Jeff Peterson/Brian Kimura (62.2).
Golfers also took home great door prizes, highlighted by the grand prize of a Vegas trip for two, which was won by Jim and Helen Faust.
