To ensure the safety of all students and staff at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, the Crisis Team has made preparations in the event of a need to evacuate the school premises to a safe second site.
Kukui Grove Center park and pavilion has been designated as one of the evacuation sites.
To provide a safe evacuation route for all students and staff in the event of a major emergency at, or affecting the school, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School leaders will be conducting a whole-school evacuation drill to Kukui Grove Center park and pavilion on Wednesday, Oct.
6. Evacuation will start at 8 a.m.
This drill is expected to take approximately 90 minutes.
The evacuation route from the school to Nuhou Street, then on to Pikake Street and to the pavilion.
Students who need to leave school early that day for medical or other reasons need to be picked up at Kukui Grove Center park and pavilion, or arrange for pick-up after the drill is completed, at approximately 9:45 a.m.
