Kaua‘i ranked as the eighth-most-popular travel destination for fall of this year.
Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates’ annual “Late Summer/Fall Travel Trends Survey” for 2004 revealed that Kaua‘i was one of the season’s top vacation destinations based on actual bookings to date as well as information on seasonal and general travel trends.
Three other Hawai‘i destinations, Maui, Honolulu and Kona, ranked third, fourth and 20th on the survey, respectively. Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla. ranked first and second, respectively.
The survey of 313 CWT owners, managers and frontline agents revealed Las Vegas and Caribbean cruises were the most popular domestic and international vacation destinations, respectively, for fall 2004.
The results also reveal promising news about the continued upswing of the overall travel business: 92 percent of the respondents said their bookings to date are equal to or higher than at this time last year. In addition, the survey covered such trends as the average length of vacations and the reasons customers are giving for traveling again after the last few years’ lull.
