Gordon Yokoi was there, and Leroy Sakaguchi got a break from being the weighmaster as Kent Nishioka took control of the scales for this event. Russell Onuma was on hand, and even Cory Neri’s (no ‘ukulele on this trip) twin sisters got some recognition when Cory came in with his fish that ended up being good enough to be on Ben Wong’s “Hawai‘i Goes Fishing” show. Wanda Shibata left her poles so she could make the weigh-in, and even if she didn’t win on the fish, got a T-shirt in a drawing.
