Just when I thought people were starting to realize the reality of terrorism, and the complicity of Saddam Hussein, someone that has their head buried in the sand jumps up and makes ridiculous statements aimed at demoralizing our involvement in Iraq and international terrorism.
Statement: Iraq had no connection to Al Quaida. Really, according to the 9/11 Commission Report top level Iraqi officers traveled to Afghanistan for high level talks with Osama Bin Laden. Al Zaqawri, along with other top lieutenants to Bin Laden, went to Iraq for all of their medical treatment. Abu Nadal, perhaps the most renowned terrorist of the 70’s and 80’s retired in Baghdad with several other known founders of terrorism. Saddam Hussein sent $25,000 checks to every family that had a son or daughter that would blow themselves up and kill Westerners, Jews, men, women and children. No connection? Give me a break!
Statement: Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. Fact; Saddam used weapons of mass destruction on his own people and the Iranians. Saddam had mobile labs around the country that were outfitted to make chemical weapons at a moments notice. When given ultimatums by the international community to account for his weapons he refused. Why? Were the weapons buried? Were they moved to another country? Had he indeed destroyed them without telling anyone? If he did destroy the weapons he did not dismantle the programs in place to be able to make them quickly. The French, Bill and Hillary Clinton, U.N., Russians, John Kerry, US intelligence, and yes even Teddy Kennedy emphatically stated that Iraq had the weapons. Please get off the no WMD kick, you’re beginning to look foolish.
