Employees of the Kaua‘i Marriott Beach Club and Resort took advantage of Patriot Day to express their appreciation for the work being done by some of Kaua‘i’s civil servants.
While the nation reflected on the third anniversary of the 9/11 terrorism attacks on America with solemn services held in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., Simon Jongert, the manager of the resort located on Kalapaki Beach supervised the loading of trays of food prepared by the hotel’s employees Saturday.
These trays would be delivered to firemen on shift at the Lihu‘e Fire Station, police officers and staff on shift at the police station, and the staff on shift at the crash fire facility at Lihu‘e Airport.
Jongert also carried a plaque provided by the hotel that expressed the appreciation and gratitude of the hotel’s family for the work being done by the fire fighters and policemen, not only on Patriot Day, but for being willing and ready every day of the year.
