Lihue’s 7-Eleven, which has been undergoing major renovation for the last two weeks, was suppose to open again Thursday. But rumor has it that shipping problems and time constraints have stymied the project.
Whatever it was, the famed one-stop shop will be closed another week and is set to open for business Sept. 9.
That’s too long for the gang at the Garden Island Newspaper who, among others working right in the area, have come to consider Lihue’s 7-Eleven the best “restaurant” in town.
Where else can you get a manapua, bento, softdrink, magazine and candy bar on the way out of town?
Oh right, the other 7-Eleven in Hanamaulu, which has seen business double over the last two weeks as sleepy-eyed and coffee-deprived drivers formed long lines to get their fixes.
