Aloha Airlines has recently started advertising their 58th birthday with $58 one- way inter-island coupons.
Before you rush off to purchase your book of coupons, be sure to read the small print. Each coupon is good for one segment of a trip. That’s great if you want to go to Honolulu. But a person living on Kaua‘i, who wants to visit the Big Island, will need two coupons one way…one for the first segment to Honoluluand another one for the connection from Honolulu to the Big Island. That means four coupons for a trip to another neighbor island. You do the math, but it doesn’t sound like a good deal to those of us that live on neighbor islands. Thanks Aloha, but I can’t afford your birthday, I’ll stick with Hawaiian.
