Business is booming at the Kilauea Bakery/Pau Hana Pizza, a locally owned and operated eatery located in the busy North Shore community.
Tom and Katie Pickett offer up a diverse menu of culinary delights to satisfy all walks of life, and their bakery-pizza shop has been a staple dine-in as well as take-out spot for North Shore residents and visitors.
Customers are able to pick up freshly baked breads, salads featuring organically-grown Kilauea lettuce, and top off their choices with a wide variety of pasteries such as lilikoi danish that utilize local flavors.
Additionally, the eatery offers up custom and specialty pizzas that are available in a variety of toppings that include gorganzola cheese, seasoned eggplant, Sugarloaf pineapple, and smoked ham.
Tucked away in the Kong Lung Shopping complex, it is a place to breeze through for coffee, or enjoy a lunch break in the courtyard that lends itself to a session of talk-story with friends, neighbors, or acquaintances.
Regular customer Vicki Cano recommends the frozen chai, “They are so-o-o good!” The friendly staff and casual atmosphere enhances the dining experience, and customers waiting on orders can browse through the local art pieces that decorate the walls.
Featured artist Tom Carney is currently exhibiting his offering of vibrant oil paintings featuring beach scenes and beautiful wahine.
