HGEA mountainball league results
Lance Nakata picked up the win, as Rainbow Sports beat KFD, 17-2 on Tuesday. John Blalock got the loss for KFD. Rainbow Sports were led at the plate by Royce Ijima (1B, 2B, 3 RBI), Vince Nitta (2 1B, 1 2B, 1 RBI), Kelly Robinson (2 1B, 1 2B, 1 RBI), Wendell Nonaka (2 1B, 2 RBI), Travis Matsumoto (2 1B, 1 RBI), David Carveiro (2 1B), and Leroy Nonaka (2 1B, 1 2B).
Matsumoto drove in the winning run for Rainbow Sports. KFD were led by Miles Bellis (1 2B, 1 RBI) and Jason Pablo (2 1B, 1 RBI).
Senior state softball resumes today
Due to the heavy rains yesterday, the 2004 Hawai‘i State Senior Softball Tournament was canceled. However, if weather permits, according to Kaua‘i Senior Softball manager, Pat Rosa, the softball tourney will continue today, as scheduled at 8:30 a.m. This year’s state tournament is at the Hanapepe Ballpark, utilizing five fields. Lacrosse clinic at Vidinha Stadium
The Guilford Lacrosse team from Connecticut is having a lacrosse clinic today from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium. Come and learn the basics, as well as the advanced techniques of this fun and exciting sport.
Nawiliwili starts up shark race series
Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s Mano (Shark) Race Series begins at Nawiliwili on Thursday, August 5 and continues in Hanalei on Saturday, August 7 and back to Nawiliwili on Thursday, August 12 at 5:00 p.m. Skippers meet at 9:00 a.m. at Hanalei Pier to determine the day’s event in the 2nd race of the 4 race series.
Golf tournament to benefit a great cause
The First Annual Quiksilver, Nalu Underground, and King Auto Center Golf Tournament to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kaua‘i happens on August 6 at the Kiahuna Golf Club. 10 a.m. is check-in time with a 12 p.m. shotgun start.
