The Beniaminas, James and Cecilia, and their four teenage children, will be moving into their home in Hanapepe Heights soon.
Their attractive four-bedroom house was blessed by Pastor Butch Kahawai of Kalaheo Missionary Church.
They were presented with a Family Bible by Kauai Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Annette Creamer; and they were offered best wishes by volunteers who were there working on carports as part of Habitat’s statewide Build-a-Thon.
The blessing added special meaning to the day.
The Beniaminas are the 17th family to have the first home of their own, built with sweat equity and the help of volunteers, in a Habitat subdivision on Hawaiian Homes land.
There are still three lots available in that area for Hawaiian families, before Habitat for Humanity moves on the development of their 125-lot subdivision open to people of all ethnic backgrounds, on 24 acres in ‘Ele‘ele.
