Charles Haffner
Charles Joseph Haffner of Kekaha died at Straub Clinic & Hospital on July 15, 2004, at the age of 78.
Born in Canton, Ill. on July 17, 1925, he was a manager at Pacific Missile Range Facility.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Timothy (Vickie) Haffner and Christine (Dennis) White both of Illinois, Shell (Lori) Haffner of Oregon, Cher Lani (Shane) Haffner of Texas and Jordan Aukai Haffner of Kekaha; step-children, John Aquino of Tonga, Janell (Eric) Moriguchi of Kekaha and Pastor Jeanno (Rebecca) Aquino of Texas; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Grubisich and Betty Herring, both of Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 23, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Pastor Merv Walker will begin at 6 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Paul Ganansa Silva, Jr., of Pahoa, Hawaii, died July 7, 2004, at Hilo Medical Center at the age of 52.
Born on Kaua‘i on Oct. 6, 1952, he was a sportsman and U.S. Army Vietnam Era veteran.
He is survived by his wife: Francine Silva of Pahoa; daughters: Crystal Silva of Pahoa, Tabitha (Justin) Puniwai of Volcano, Hawaii, and Samantha (Shane) Cardines of Pahoa; sons: Brent (Jeanette) Silva of Waimea, Kamuela, Hawai‘i and James “Jimmy” Silva of O‘ahu; parents: Paul Sr. and Helen SIlva of Koloa; sister Jane (Ed) Johnson of Fremont, Calif.; brother: Randal Silva of Koloa; three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 23, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo; funeral service at noon. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Dodo Mortuary.

Charlotte Elnora Redfern of Kapa‘a, died July 16, 2004, at her home at the age of 87.
A homemaker, she was born July 12, 1917, in Colorado.
She is survived by one son: Richard Redfern and one grandchild.
