A dead body was found in the Kealia Kai area north of Kealia Beach yesterday.
The body had been reported to police dispatch at 3:28 p.m. The Caucasian male, approximately 30 years old, was found lying on the ground near a vehicle parked along the seashore. There are no outward signs of foul play, according to a Kaua‘i Police Department report.
While the man has been tentatively identified, the information will not be released until a positive identification has been made.
Unconfirmed reports said the body was found in the area near the surfing spot known as Crack-14, which is a former cane field located a few miles south of the village in Anahola.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, said Cyndi Mei Ozaki, county public information officer.
