Hudcovic spears biggest catch
There’s nothing like coming back to the shore with the biggest fish in hand. For David Hudcovic, his big catch earned him the first-place prize at the Third Annual Kaua‘i Freedive Spearfishing Tournament held at Salt Pond Beach Park on June 26.
Vea, Kanahele whisk away Eastside
Ashely Vea and Lani Kanahele teamed up to score 21 points for the Westside Hornets, as they romped the Eastside Gurlz, 54-12 in girls 19-and-under action on June 28 at Kalaheo Gym.
2004 Kaua‘i Sports Camp at Isenberg Park
The Third Annual Kaua‘i Sports Camp sponsored by various churches on Kaua‘i will be held the week of July 5-9 from 3-6 p.m. at Isenberg Park. The camp is for children between the ages of 6-12.
Three aces at Wailua Golf Course
Aileen Yoshida of Honolulu scored a hole-in-one at Wailua Golf Course’s 14th hole (148 yards) on June 25, during the PGL Annual Neighborhood Outing. Yoshida used a Tight Lies 5 wood and has been golfing for 30 years and this is her first ace!
Meanwhile, Tanner “Mikey Boy” Haytin of Kilauea made a Hole in One at Wailua’s 3rd Hole, 245 yards using a Big Bertha. This is Tanner’s second hole in one in 7 years.
