Larry D. Ramos of Kapa‘a, died May 29, 2004, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 87.
Born Aug. 15, 1916, in the Philippines, he was retired from Pacific Diecasting Co.
He is survived by his wife, Patrocinia O. Ramos of Kapa‘a; daughter, Carmen (Dan) Brown of California; two sons, Larry (Helene) Ramos, Jr. of Idaho and Del (Garlena) Ramos of California; sister, Betty (Kenneth) Speetz of California; brother, Adriano Emparado of California; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 12, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and suggests casual attire.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Fugio Matsuyoshi
Fugio Matsuyoshi of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 31, 2004 at the age of 85.
Born in Hanama‘ulu on Sept. 6, 1919, he was a salesman with a retail business.
He is survived by three sons, Robin (Stephanie) Matsuyoshi of New York, John (Ruth) Matsuyoshi of Kapa‘a and Thomas (Lani) Matsuyoshi of ‘Ele‘ele; three daughters, Jun (Fred Bachmann) Matsuyoshi of New Jersey, Yuki Matsuyoshi of East Palo Alto, Calif. and Gloria Corcino of San Jose, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; brother, Yoshio (Mildred) Matsuyoshi of Hanama‘ulu; sister, Toshie Aquino of Puhi; step-mother, Kimie Matsuyoshi of Hanama‘ulu; step-brother, Nobuhiro (Kathy) Matsuyoshi of Wailua; step-sister, Irene Matsuyoshi; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion; followed by burial at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Mitsuko Matsuoka
Mitsuko “Mitchan” Matsuoka of Koloa died May 29, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.
A retired tour narrator with Roberts’ Tours, she was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Koloa.
She is survived by her husband, Takeshi Matsuoka of Koloa; four sons, Wayne (Diane) Matsuoka of Lihu‘e; Elliot (Sharyn) Matsuoka of Gardena, Calif., Bert (Janette) Matsuoka of Koloa and Scot Matsuoka of Mililani; two sisters, Helen Hamada of Waimea and Sue (Angel) Escalante of Berkeley, Calif.; one brother, Masashi Terui of Henderson, Nev.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, June 6, at Koloa Missionary Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
