Luana M. Rapozo
Luana M. Rapozo died on May 22, 2004, at her home in Anaheim Hills, Calif.
Born July 22, 1945 in Lihu‘e, she graduated from Kapa‘a High School and attended the University of Hawai‘i. She was last employed by Prospect Medical Systems, Santa Ana, Calif., as a claims auditor.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond R. Rapozo and son, Les R. (Lisa) Rapozo, both of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; her parents, James and Mitsuyo Morita of Kapa‘a; brothers Wendell J. (Tomoko) Morita of Buena Park, Calif., Richard K. Morita and Wesley K. Morita, both of Kapa‘a; and two grandchildren, Kayli and Kyle Rapozo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at the Kapaa First Hawaiian Church on Friday, June 4, from 9 to 10 a.m. Services will commence at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Park. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress, Calif.
Dennis Thuente
Dennis Thuente of Sun Village, died May 27, 2004, at his home at the age of 68.
Born Feb. 21, 1936, he retired from Delta Construction. He was also a woodworker and made koa bowls after he retired.
He is survived by his wife: Anne Rivera Thuente of Lihu‘e; two daughters: Gail Hancock and Kaylyn Abbott, both of Colorado; two sons: Robert Thuente and Don Thuente, both of Colorado; three stepdaughters: Nalani Stevenson of the Big Island, Dolores White of O‘ahu and Fern White of the Big Island; two sisters: Dolores Holicek and Marie Thuente, both of Minnesota; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, at Immaculate Conception Church where Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Bill.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Edward Remigio
Edward Remigio of Anahola, died May 25, 2004, at Straub Hospital at the age of 51.
Born Jan. 23, 1953, in Lihu‘e, he was a laborer for a sugar plantation.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years: G’Nell Kaleiohi Vea of Anahola; two daughters: Jenna (John) Cox of Arizona and Charmanine Remigio; one son: Michael Vea of Hanalei; mother: Consuelo (Robert) Remigio of Lihu‘e; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Catbagan; four sisters: Frene Williams, Lorna A. Navarro, Yolanda Esona and Gloria Bonilla; three brothers: Pascacio “Gary” Remigio, Ronald Remigio, and Raphael Remigio; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
