Kapa‘a and Wailua – June 5 12-2 p.m. at Kapa‘a Beach Park
Hanalei – June 5 1-3 p.m. at Hanalei Community Center
Kilauea – June 4 5-7 p.m. at Kilauea Neighborhood Center
The early registration fee is $55.00. Fees increase to $60.00 on June 12th and will increase another $5.00 each month on the first, beginning July 1.
Navratilova loses
PARIS — Martina Navratilova returned to Grand Slam singles tennis Tuesday at the French Open, losing in straight sets to Gisela Dulko, an Argentine who had never won a match at this level. Then again, Navratilova is the same age as Dulko’s mother. Elsewhere on Day 2, Serena and Venus Williams both won, as did No. 1 Roger Federer.
Kellinoi, Napolean lead Comets
Sanoe Kellinoi led the Comets with 14 points and Mai‘lika Napolean put in nine to help Lihu‘e beat the Kaumakani Supersonics, 35-24 Monday at Kalaheo Gym (GU12).
Sera Pascual, Taylor Aana-Kepa, and Aiko Grande each scored six points to lead the Supersonics attack.
Meanwhile, Tanisha DeFabian was the high scorer with 13 points for the Westside Hornets who beat the Lihu‘e Pacers, 25-14 (GU12).
Randee Layosa came through with six points for the Pacers.
Run-n-Fun ran away with the victory, 53-40 over the Westside Hornets (BU16).
Jesse Slade led Run-n-Fun with 12 points, Bradley Semana and Nathaniel Beralas both chipped in with 11 points each.
Kimo Farias led all scorers with 14 points and Basil Walton notched 10 points for the Hornets.
In Kilauea, C-Town edged Gee Unit, 46-31 (BU12). Nicholas Chow led C-Town with 15 points. Cody Valpoon continued his scoring spree with 12 points.
In one of the lowest scoring contests of the season, C-Town inched past Wailua, 12-9. Shelcie Rapozo-Dela Cruz found the hoop for eight points. Roselyn Ebinger led Wailua with six points.
