Vulcans blanked
GREELEY, Colo. – Keeping the bats hot in the cool weather of Jackson Field in Greeley, Colo., was a challenge the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo baseball team lost as the Vulcans dropped a 12-0 game to the University of Northern Colorado.
The Vulcans play New York Tech in the inaugural game of the Division I Independent Baseball Invitational at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 20. Host Northern Colorado play Pace University at 2:30 p.m.
After producing 16 runs off of 18 hits in the two-game series opener, the Vulcans found swinging the aluminum difficult in game two. Six Vulcans combined to produce five singles and a double. Three pitchers combined to give up 13 hits and 11 earned runs.
