Walter J. Smith Canoe Regatta
Kawaikini Canoe Club is having its annual Walter J. Smith Canoe Regatta on May 15 at the Wailua River from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Events will feature children, teens, and adult canoe races. Contact Barbara Bradish for more information at 822-3790.
20th Annual Arc of Kaua‘i/CPB Golf Tournament
The Arc of Kaua‘i will be holding its 20th Annual Golf Tournament on June 6 at the Mokihana Golf Course at the Kaua‘i Lagoons. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. Format is two-men team; best ball with 80 percent handicap. $90.00 entry fee includes banquet lunch buffet, cart, and green fees. Ubongen leads Comets in KYBA
Ashley Ubongen pocketed eight points to lead the Lihu‘e Comets to a 32-11 win over the Westside Hornets in the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association (KYBA) Girls 12 Under contest played on May 10 at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Tanisha DeFabian led the Hornets with five points.
Wailua cooked down the Kanu Hot Shots, 27-6 in the second contest of the evening with balanced scoring coming from Lynsi Nakamura, Kaira Kupihea, Britney Kaua, Jondi Das, Jodi Das, and Ashlyn Lee each chipping in four markers for the win.
Lehua McCabe led the Hot Shots with five points.
Kekaha Pop Warner meeting Thursday
The Kekaha Pop Warner Association will be hosting a general membership meeting on May 13 at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center pavilions starting at 7 p.m.
Parents of youth between the ages of 8 to 15 years old are invited to attend as updates of the upcoming season will be discussed as well as registration for the Kekaha program involving tackle football and cheerleading in three divisions — Junior PeeWee, PeeWee, and Midget.

Northshore Pop Warner registration
The Northshore Pop Warner Association will accept registrations for their 2004 tackle football and cheer season on May 21, and Thursdays, June 4 and 11 at the Kilauea Gym from 4 to 6 p.m.
Youth aged between 8 and 15 are welcome to participate in tackle football and cheerleading.
The association is also looking for head coaches, assistant coaches in both the Junior PeeWee and PeeWee divisions.
