Free coaches clinic Apr. 28 in Lihu‘e
The Boys and Girls Club and the Positive Coaching Alliance invites anyone involved with Kaua‘i’s youth to a free workshop at the Lihu‘e Nigheborhood Center on Wednesday, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The workshop will teach youth leaders more about becoming a positive influence with the goal of the leaders becoming “double-goal” coaches.
The Positive Coaching Alliance, a national organization, stresses three primary goals which includes replacing the “win-at-all-cost coach” with the “Double-Goal Coach” who wants to win, but more importantly, uses sports to teach life lessons.
The Alliance also teaches youth sports organization leaders how to create an organizational culture in which honoring the game is the norm, and also to spark and fuel a “social epidemic” of positive coaching.
The workshop is open to anyone involved with Kaua‘i’s youth and coaches and parents are encouraged to attend.
There will be heavy pupu served.
