Representatives from the Hawai‘i Visitors & Convention Bureau have been selling the benefits of holding meetings in Hawai‘i to officials at major regional trade shows in Atlanta and Boston.
Last week, HVCB officials attended the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) 2004 Meetings Exploration Conference at The Westin Peachtree Plaza and AmericasMart in Atlanta.
The two-day trade show and networking conference is presented by the Georgia chapter of MPI, which has 900 members
This week, they are headed to Boston for the 18th Annual New England Meetings Industry Conference and Exposition at the Hynes Convention Center.
The one-day show is expected to draw over 2,000 meeting planners and suppliers.
“Hawai‘i is the world’s premier warm-weather meetings destination, and our objective is to increase market share within this region, especially among corporate meeting planners,” said Michael Murray, director of sales for HVCB’s Corporate Meetings and Incentives (CMI) division.
Accessibility and diversity of activities are Hawai‘i selling points, he said.
