Mary Nyuen Lung Bal of Kekaha, Kauai, died March 2, 2004, at the age of 93.
Born in Kilauea, Kaua‘i, on June 5, 1910, she was a teacher with the Department of Education.
She is survived by one son, Edward (Diana) Bal of Acampo, Calif. and one hanai son, Norman (Kiyomi) Lung of Los Angeles, Calif., two daughters, Leimomi (William) Crowell of Kekaha and Janet Kahaunani Landfried of Redlands, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, March 8, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kekaha with services at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.

Carl K. Nishiie of Kilauea died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 27, 2004, at the age of 48.
Born Dec. 27, 1955, in Lihu‘e, he was a part-time landscaper for various landscaping companies.
He is survived by his father, Kazuma Nishiie; stepmother, Celia Nishiie; one brother, Roy Nishiie; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 10, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at St. Sylvester Catholic Church where Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
