Ginez sweeps Garden Isle radio controlled races
The Garden Isle Radio Controlled (R/C) Racers were pleased with the rain that made their Wailua off-road course perfect for racing on Sunday.
Dennis Ginez took advantage of the terrain to dominate both 1/8 Nitro 4wd Buggy and 1/10 Nitro Truck ‘A’ Division from the start.
Seth Morales, 12, took top honors in the Nitro Truck ‘B” Division and Bart Ovales was the dominant driver in the 1/8 4wd Nitro Monster Truck Class.
The next GI R/C races will be held on Mar. 14 at the back parking lot of the Big Kmart store.
Races start at 11 a.m. and the public is invited to view the event. There is no admission charge.

Zalopany a top prospect in nation
Leonard Zalopany, a thirdbaseman for the Waimea High School baseball team, has been named one of the Top 50 prospects according to Perfect Game USA.
Zalopany, whose statistics are 6’4″, 205 pounds joins 51 other players from each of the 50 states plus Canada and Puerto Rico.
Zalopany was selected for the state of Hawai‘i, and has not yet committed to any institution of higher learning.
