Joe Lorenzo
Joe Lorenzo of West Covina, Calif., died Jan. 27, 2004, at the age of 82.
Also known by his Kaua‘i friends and relatives as Sonny or “Spoon,” he was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Koloa, Kaua‘i and had been a resident of West Covina since 1984.
He is survived by sisters, Carrie Jandoc and Violet Dunston of Honolulu, HI, Hilda Hollenbeck of Phelan, Calif., and Madeline Cates of West Covina, Ca., and brothers, Albert Lorenzo of Waianae, HI., and Lawrence Lorenzo of Honolulu, HI. Nephews on Kaua‘i are August, Franklin and Les Ventura. Nieces are Barbara Perreira and Betty Correa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu, and in California and Nevada.
Services were held Friday, Feb. 6 at the Memorial Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, in Whittier , Calif.
Joy Dailey
Joy Dailey of Wailua died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 12, 2004 at the age of 60.
Born in Orville, CA on August 31, 1943, she was a seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Vargo of Wailua; two sons, Roger Olsen of Maui, Eric Olsen of Kapa‘a and daughter, Skylen Dailey of Los Angeles, CA.
Joy Dailey’s three children will spread her ashes up in Koke‘e as she wished it to be.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Charles W. Pratus
Charles W. Pratus of Princeville died at Honolulu, HI on February 3, 2004, at the age of 88.
Born in Elizabeth, Pa., on June 27, 19115, he was a retired chief of engineering with The Country Club.
He is survived by one daughter, Lynn McCrory of Princeville, and one son Charles (Susie) Pratus Jr.; three grandchildren; two sisters Ann Snyder of San Antonio, Texas and Helen Cisan of Anaheim, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hanamaulu Restaurant & Tea House from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 25, with service at 4 p.m. The family suggests casual or aloha attire and that flowers be omitted
