Alfredo V. Casticimo
Alfredo V. Casticimo of Koloa, died at his home on January 26, 2004 at the age of 94.
Born in Tabtabagan Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on January 20, 1910.
Preceded in death by parents, Luis and Lucrecia Casticimo, sisters, Rita Casticimo, Maria Apolinario, Felomena Torres and Eufemia Maximo. He is survived by his wife, Florencia P. Casticimo of Koloa; children, Lyn Casticimo of Puhi, Eddie (Mercedes) Casticimo of Lawa’i, Fred (Claressa) Casticimo of Koloa and Lisa (Brent Finch) Casticimo of Honolulu; brother, Fernando Casticimo of PI; three sisters, Florentina Tomas of CA., Jacinta Unciano and Rosalina Apolinario both of the Philippines, 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa; mass at 10 a.m. Followed by burial at the church cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested.

Rev. Tsuneo Miyashiro
Rev. Tsuneo Miyashiro died in Columbus, Ohio on Jan. 11, 2004, at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Kapaa Homesteads, attended Kapaa School and graduated from Kauai High School in 1943.
He was a retired ordained minister with the United Church of Christ, obtaining his theology degree from Boston University. He served churches in Massachusetts, Illinois and Ohio. He also taught religion at the Ohio State Penitentiary. He was a social activist for the Peace & Justice Movement and for the less fortunate members of society.
On his 48th birthday he experienced kidney failure and soon thereafter began dialysis treatment. When he was 58 years old he received a kidney transplant from his sister Itsuko, enabling him to live a productive and active life for another 20+ years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ellamae, sons David of Columbus, Paul of Pompano Beach, Fl., and daughter Beth (Mike) Vivio and two grandsons of Waco, Tx. He is also survived by his brothers George (Joyce) Miyashiro and Lloyd Miyashiro of Kapa’a; sister Itsuko (Masaru) Kaneshiro and brother Tasuku (Dot) of Honolulu and Susumu (Thelma) Miyashiro of Huntington Beach, Calif.
Memorial services were held on Jan. 17, at the North Congregational United Church of Christ in Columbus, Ohio.
