She was a steerswoman with Pu’uwai Canoe Club of Wailua for many years and will be remembered among the paddling community as a courageous, fun loving and positive role model who delighted in introducing others to her love of the ocean and paddling. Her enthusiasm and encouragement brought numerous people to the sport.
The same strength of heart that allowed Pamela to steer canoes across ocean channels was felt by family, friends and the community. We pray that this same strength will aid Pamela as she steers her new journey. She was a gift to us all and we will miss her caring, loving nature and joyous laughter.
Pamela’s family and Pu’uwai Canoe Club will be holding a celebration of Pamela’s life on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Wailua River.
