Andrew Kuuopuulaniakealoha Kahokuloa, died at Straub Clinic and Hospital on Dec. 31, 2003 at the age of 58.
Born on Ni’ihau on April 28, 1945, he was a charcoal maker for Ni’ihau.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Kahokuloa of Anahola; five sons, Andrew (Eleanani) Kahokuloa of Moloka’i, Matthew (Kauiokalani “Precious”) Kahokuloa of Anahola, Philip Kahokuloa of Anahola, Mark Kahokuloa of Anahola; four daughters, Eleanor (Kyle Masuda) Hookano of Lihu’e, Katherine (Nathaniel Rhodes, Jr.) Kahokuloa of Florida, Violet (Nathan Pascua) Kahokuloa of Anahola, Gail (Kenneth) Shintani of Ni’ihau; one brother, Palenapa (Elizabeth) Kaohelaulii, Sr. of Makaweli; two sisters, Lei (Kunia) Pahulehua of Ni’ihau, Winona (Earl) Teeter of Honolulu, 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Service to begin at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
