For the thirteenth straight year, Roger Ridgley Jr., owner and operator of A Tow In Paradise, is offering to be a designated driver.
“If you are at a party or a nightclub or bar and you have had too much to drink, give A Tow In Paradise a call and we will take you and your car to your home free,” he said.
It’s Ridgley’s way of helping make the holiday season safer, he said.
“No questions, no hassles, no police, and no charge,” he explained. “Most people drive home drunk because they do not want to leave their cars behind,” he said.
“The only requirement is that the person be taken home and not to another party, and the car must be operable.”
Ridgley is donating his service, time and fuel during the holiday season to make island roads safer, he said. He and his company are again participating in a national program, T.O.W.E.D. (Towing Operators Working to Eliminate Drunk Driving).
Ridgley and company are offering this service now through tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 1.
“If you, a family member or a friend has had too much to drink, please call A Tow In Paradise, 245-8818.”
