Download e-mail and surf the Internet at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up from all 356 guest rooms and suites at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
The resort recently completed the installation of VDSL (Very High-Speed Data Rate Digital Subscriber Line) and is offering the service through a new “Wired For Business” package that includes unlimited Internet access and long distance phone calls.
“Wired For Business” provides guests unlimited high-speed online access and the ability to make unlimited local and domestic long distance phone calls (International and Canada excluded) for a 24-hour period (12 p.m. to 12 p.m.).
“Fast and dependable online access is something discerning business and leisure travelers have come to expect at resorts, so we are glad to be able to offer this great service to our guests,” said Simon Jongert, General Manager of the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
“The great thing about VDSL is that it enables users to work online and talk on the phone simultaneously which can increase productivity significantly for those working on the road.”
Accessing the high-speed service does not require guests to reconfigure their laptop computers in most instances.
Users will simply plug into the modem provided in the room, confirm they have read and agree to the Terms of Use, and be automatically directed to the hotel’s Web page when connected.
From there, guests can surf the Internet, send and receive e-mail, or conduct other business as needed.
Should technical support be required, a toll-free technical support hotline is available 24-hours a day.
Professional technicians will be available to answer any equipment issues or concerns.
The Kaua‘i Marriott Resort also installed VDSL is its meetings areas including the 17,280 square foot Kaua‘i Ballroom, the largest ballroom on the island.
All nine meeting rooms are now outfitted with VDSL, which perfectly complements the high-speed wireless connectivity that was installed back in March.
“In this age of technology, it is critical that we keep up with the game to remain a competitive player in the marketplace,” Jongert said.
“We are continually looking for opportunities to exceed the expectations of our guests and clients and by investing in this technology, we are confident that it will prove to be a desirable service for many business and leisure travelers to come.”
Overlooking Kalapaki Beach and Nawiliwili Harbor, the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club is located on 51 oceanfront acres on Kaua‘i’s east side.
The resort offers 356 comfortably appointed hotel guest rooms and features four restaurants and two lounges, a beachfront health and fitness center, full-service day spa, and 26,000 square-foot swimming pool, one of the largest in Hawai‘i.
