Post office extends Saturday hours
To help our customers the Lihu‘e Post Office will be extending the Saturday Window Service Hours to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 6, 13 and 20. We hope that the extra Saturday hours will help those who are not able to mail during our regular hours. The Monday through Friday hours will remain the same, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 4 p.m.
In addition to the extended hours, we will be delivering to your home the popular Stamps by Mail Envelope this Friday. This program allows customers to order stamps through the mail and receive them the next business day. The Stamps by Mail program can save you a trip to your local Post Office. This year’s holiday stamps are available in the following denominations and styles. We have the self-adhesive coils of 100 in the 37c Snowmen design for $37. Self-adhesive sheets of 20 stamps in Snowmen, Holiday Hanukkah and Kwanzaa stamp sheets of 20 for $7.40. There is a space provided on the bottom of the PS Form 3227 to indicate your choices. In addition you can order our entire regular stamps and envelopes.
The suggested Mailing Dates for Christmas 2003 to Domestic destinations including Continental U.S. (including Puerto Rico and Alaska) is December 17. Suggested mailings dates to Hawaii destinations December 20 and International by December 5. Express mail is the only guaranteed service with a full refund issued if not delivered on time. The suggested date is Continental U.S. December 20 and the Hawaiian Islands December 22. International Global Priority Mail is December 10. We encourage the use of Delivery Confirmation Service for a $.45 fee on Priority and Surface Mail. This feature allows you to log on to the Postal Service Web site “usps.com” and track your parcel and know when it is delivered. For all other Postal related questions you can call toll free 1-800-ASK-USPS 275-8777).
The employees at the Lihu‘e Post Office would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.
Mark Gowan,
Postmaster Lihu‘e
