AYSO Kirk Banks tryouts coming up
Tryouts for the girls’ under-14 Kirk Banks Tournament for AYSO Region 941 is Dec. 7 and 14 at Anahola Village Park from 2-4 p.m. Any players wishing to try out for the tournament are to bring their own soccer ball. For more information or questions, call Gwen Tamura at 828-1050.
State football championships air Friday on K108 AM
The anticipated Kaua’i High-Kahuku football championship game will be broadcast live from Honolulu Friday night as part of the Hawaii Sports Network Radio First Hawaiian Bank State Football Championships.
Two of the four quarterfinal games of the Division I tournament will air on KWAI 1080 AM (K108).
Kahuku and Kaua’i will play at 5 p.m. Saint Louis will battle Mililani at 7:30 p.m.
Kaua’ High Schooli, the Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation champion, went 5-3 this season with a 5-1 KIF record. Kahuku (11-0 overall, 10-0 league) is the O’ahu Interscholastic League champion.
Saint Louis (7-1 overall, 6-1 league) is the champion of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu; Mililani (9-2 overall, 8-2 in OIA) finished fourth in the OIA.
Play-by-play will be provided by Bob Hogue, with Blaine Kauwe as color man and Darrick Branch reporting from the sidelines. Hogue, Kauwe and Branch will also select the Allstate “Good Hands” award recipient.
U-12 basketball coaches must attend meeting
Coaches planning to enter a team in the County’s 12-Under Boys Basketball League are asked to attend a coaches’ meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Mo’ikeha Building, Conference Room 2.
Rosters and league format will discussed and finalized at this meeting, hosted by the Office of Community Assistance-Recreation Agency. All coaches or team representatives are encouraged to attend.
