Florencio Delos Santos Sr.
Florencio Delos Santos Sr. of Hanapepe died at Kauai Care Center on Nov. 1, 2003, at the age of 96.
Born in Las Pinas, Rizal, Philippines, on Nov. 10, 1906, he was a master sergeant with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by wife, Trinidad B. Delos Santos of Hanapepe; three sons: Florencio Delos Santos, Jr. of Manila, Philippines; and George Delos Santos and Eddie Delos Santos, both of Las Vegas; three daughters: Caridad S. Guinto of San Diego, Calif.; Josephine S. Althaus of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and Virginia “Gigi” Delos Santos of Hanapepe; 25 grandchildren; numerous nieces.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 4 p.m., followed by burial at the ‘Ele‘ele Sacred Hearts Catholic Church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Billie J. Bell, 72 of Wai‘anae, died on Nov. 2, 2003.
Born in Mayberry, W. Va., on May 14, 1931, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force, and a retired firefighter with the federal government.
He is survived by his wife, Sadako; three daughters: Gyndlin Bell, Christine Bell and Janet Bell; one sister, Lelia Pauline Bell; and one brother, Paul Lewis Bell; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Punchbowl Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

John Matias Vegas of ‘Ele‘ele died at his residence on Nov. 4, 2003 at the age of 75.
Born in Kaua‘i on Dec. 27, 1927, he was a maintenance man for Young Brothers in Honolulu.
He is survived by his children: Cindy Ortiz of Kent, Wash.; Jo Ann (Warren) Kawaguchi of ‘Ele‘ele; Jerrylynn (Wilson) Rivera of Mililani; Lona Vegas of Honolulu; brother, Danny Vegas of California; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchildren.
Friends may join the family for a gathering on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m., at 4526 Pualei Street in ‘Ele‘ele. Casual attire is suggested.

Frank Silva Jr. of Kaua‘i and Mesquite, Nev., died in Kekaha on Oct. 31, 2003 at the age of 79.
Born in Kealia, Kaua‘i on April 25, 1924, he was formerly a maintenance supervisor with the state Department of Transportation Airport Division. He is survived by wife, Barbara Rose Silva of Mesquite, Nev.; two sons: Jonathan (Charlene) Silva of Kapa‘a and Clayton Silva of Lihu‘e; four daughters: Yvonne (Mark) Mock of Marysville, Calif.; Judith (Colin) McLeod of Chico, Calif.; Veronica (Mark) Pagnoptta of Waianae, O‘ahu; and Brenda (Daryl Martin) Melchor of Kekaha; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother: Alfred Silva of Kapa‘a; four sisters: Tina Garcia of Waimea; Emily Rapozo of Kapa‘a; Virginia Rosa of Kapa‘a; and Josephine Chansky of Kapa‘a; four stepsons: Teddy Medeiros of Idaho; Randy J.
