Chefs shows culinary students how to shave

PUHI — With Kaua‘i Community College culinary-arts students looking on in awe, chef Wally Nishimura of the Lemon Grass restaurant in Waipouli took a chain saw to a block of ice to turn the brick into a work of art during an ice-sculpture demonstration yesterday morning.

Not to be outdone, sushi chef Greg Aceret brought his tools and a fresh salmon to campus, giving the students lessons both in knife-wielding and sushi-making.
