A group of Japanese visitors were welcomed to Kaua‘i by the local branch of the Friendship Force organization.
On Wednesday morning, the local greeters and the Japanese visitors got together at the Kukuiolono Park pavilion in Kalaheo for a cross-cultural exchange. The Japanese visitors taught the Kauaians some of their homeland’s arts and crafts, and the local residents taught the visitors hula.
The visitors are here as part of a Friendship Force program, and will spend a week staying with host families, experiencing the island in a way only host families can provide. They are scheduled to depart on Saturday.
