Roxy Pro France WCT postponed
Hossegor, France — The Roxy Pro France was postponed Oct. 3 due to stormy surf. A decision will be made today, and when the event resumes, reigning world champ Andy Irons is up first against Quiksilver Pro Trials winner Tiago Pires (Portugal) in a highly anticipated clash.
The remaining round two heat was initially placed on hold as organizers evaluated conditions near the main contest site of La Nord at La Gravier, but it was then decided to wait for more favorable surf.
Wild 6 foot surf was on offer at La Gravier, and many of the world’s top men’s competitors went free surfing, but most waves were just closeouts without much scoring potential.
