Pop Warner moves into week 2
Andrew Renaud of the Lihu‘e Patriots’ Midget team was two for three in the point-after kicking department as the Patriots shut down the Kapa‘a Vikings 30-0 on Saturday at Hanapepe Stadium.
Brandon Young sparkled for the Patriots’ Midget team in special teams performance as he returned a kickoff 75 yards for the first score of that game, and followed it up with a 45 yard punt return for the team’s third score in their win, the punt return for score coming after Aaron Adachi tapped paydirt in the second quarter.
Other Saturday game scores saw the JPW Patriots battle to a 0-0 stalemate against the Kapa‘a JPW Warriors, and the Lihu‘e PW Patriots blanking the Kapa‘a PW Steelers, 16-0.
The afternoon series had the Hanapepe JPW Colts and the Koloa JPW Packers grappling to a 0-0 tie, the Hanapepe PW Colts dropping to the Koloa PW Rams, 16-0, and the Hanapepe Midgets Colts taking a 30-8 win over the Koloa Midgets Raiders.
Sunday’s action had the Northshore JPW Na Ali‘i a 6 – 0 winner over the Kekaha JPW Panthers.
