LIHU‘E — The 2003 Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair will be in its third night of fun tonight on the grounds of Vidinha Stadium.
The event is being sponsored by Meadow Gold, and features exhibits of local produce and animals, informational booths from a wide variety of organizations, carnival rides, live entertainment, and a wide variety of local foods.
A crowd of about 50,000 fair goers made up of local residents and visitors attend the fair each year, making it one of the biggest annual attractions on Kaua‘i.
The fair opens today at noon, and runs to midnight.
Tomorrow is the final day of the fair, which is scheduled to run from noon to 11 p.m.
The Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union is the co-sponsor of the fair tonight.
At 1 p.m. the KGEFCU’s Keiki Stars appear in the Entertainment Tent, followed at 3:30 p.m. by the opening of the 4-H Petting Zoo.
At 4 p.m. a reiki demonstration is scheduled followed at 4:30 by Meadow Gold’s Healthy Baby Contest, in the Entertainment Tent
Dog training demonstrations from 6-7 p.m. are being presented by the Dog Fanciers of Kauai, in the Livestock Area
At 6:30 p.m. the 4-H club’s Beef Steer, Lamb, Hog & Broiler Auction is set, in the Livestock Area
Geico Direct’s Hula Nights with Augie T., Ed Ka‘ahea and Shelly Cobb, begins at 7 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent
A Bonsai Demonstration is on Saturday night until 11 p.m. in Grove Farm’s Agricultural Exhibit Tent, along with a Kaua‘i Community College Culinary Arts Cooking Demonstation.
The 4-H petting zoo reopens from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Livestock Area
At 8 p.m. Production Red Chicks go on sale, $2 each, in the Livestock Area.
A Kaua‘i 4-H Demonstration by Jessica Fukushima on Oriental Soybeans begins at 9 p.m. in th Livestock Area.
Aloha Breeze plays at 10:15 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent.
