Fathom Five-Ocean Quest Watersports will be offering free diving in September and October for those that are certified.
The program is called “Kaua‘i Dives for Free.”
Fathom Five owner George Thompson says that the offer is not a promotion but a means of giving thanks for all those that have supported the business over the years.
“This really isn’t new,” Thompson said. “We have been offering this for a long time. It just seems that people aren’t aware of it. We wanted to make sure that people know they have this option.
The oldest diving company on Kaua”i, Fathom Five has been in business for 25 years.
George and his wife Jeannette have owned the company since 2001.
The company strives to offer “state of the art equipment, including a full service dive store, and our PADI Star IDC rating which ensures the best service and safety available.”
Fathom Five is one of two companies on the island offering six passenger dive vessels.
The business has over 20 diving sites including (shore dives) Tunnels Beach and Koloa Landing and Turtle Bluffs (boat dive).
Interested participants need to be 18 years of age of have a parent accompany them on their dives. Also, no spearing or fishing will be allowed on the dives.
Fathom Five owner George Thompson asks that divers bring their own equipment such as wet suits and snorkels although participants can rent the full set of equipment for $20.
The business provides a diving computer, weights, air tanks and lights.
