Flag football signups start Aug. 27
The Boys & Girls Club of Hawai‘i, both the Waimea and Kapa‘a Clubhouses will begin registration for their 7-on-7 Flag Football League beginning Wednesday, Aug. 27.
The league is for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 years old with registration forms available at both sites. Volunteers are also needed to help coach the football teams.
If you enjoy working with kids, and would like to make a difference in your community and in the life of a child, this is your opportunity.
Volunteer applications may be picked up at either the Waimea or Kapa‘a site.
Registration ends Sept. 25.

CAK tournament tees off Sept. 6
The 10th Annual Contractors Association of Kaua‘i (CAK)/Goodfellow Bros. Scholarship golf tournament will be held Saturday, September 6 at the recently-opened Puakea Golf Course.
Format will be two-person best ball (low net score) with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The tournament also features a Callaway Flight for golfers without established handicaps.
Deadline for registration is August 29.
Proceeds from the tournament is used to fund the CAK scholarship program that this summer presented six Kaua‘i students at the University of Hawai‘i with scholarships.
Applications for the CAK scholarships will be available in January, 2004 for students pursuing a construction-related field of study.
Students can be a high school senior, college student, or student pursuing post graduate study.
